Who I work with
There are numerous factors that influence the expressions of distress that we see in our children. Sometimes how they express themselves looks different from one environment to another, or from one support person to another. Coming to understand what our children need requires an understanding of all the relationships and settings that they are a part of.
I work in a variety of different ways, depending on the needs and aspirations of the client. I work individually with clients in a therapy room in Freemans Bay. I also work in the community with groups of parents or educators. I facilitate group discussion around a topic of interest or an area of concern. Such topics might include understanding expressions of distress, building safe attachments and positive relationships, repairing moments of conflict and learning how to play. I like to work collaboratively with my client/s to design a presentation or event that is tailored to their needs.
